Analyse electroplated objects

Learning Outcomes

1.Students will observe the different type of sports equipments made from metals.

2.Students will also observe some very shiny sports equipments.

3.Students will analyse that shiny sports equipments made from some special material.

4.Students will describe the method of electroplating.

5.Students will also be able to describe the importance of electroplating.

6.Students will exhibit the value of team spirit.

Description Of Activity

1.Encourage the students to brainstorm of familiar sports/games with.

2.Explain that we are going to work with some of the equipments used in the sports listed, ask questions like-how can you identify the electroplated items.

3.Group the students in two or three groups. Provide a basket to each group.

4.Ask each group to collect shiny/lustrous items which looks like a steel.

Equipment/Material Required

Chart paper,marker, sports equipments like-clip board,sport base,goals,posts,weights,weight lifting rod,air pump, trophy,prizes,dumble,shot put,discus,cycle etc.
