Learning Outcomes

Explain three different levels of courts in India and familiarize with thejudiciary system in India. Developvery basic understanding of the significance of the levels of courts in our country.

Description Of Activity

Formation: 3 tier simple pyramidal structure to show the  three different levels of courts in our country. Several courts are at the lower level while only one at the apex level.

How to Play :

Step 1: Whole team will stand in a line.

Step 2:  3 strongest players will kneel down and make a horse posture to make the base for the pyramid. This base line will  represent the District level or subordinate court. Most people interact at this level. Each district is presided by District Judge.

Step 3:  2 other player will take standing forward bent position with their hands on the shoulders of the  players those are in base, and in between the gap of two players to make second level which will representState level court that is High Court. It is the highest court of the state.

Step 4: Last and lightest player will mount the shoulders of the players in second tier to make the apex of the pyramid to represent the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court of India is the highest judicial authority. It is located in New Delhi and is presided over the Chief Justice of India. The decisions made by the Supreme Court are binding on all other courts in India.

Human pyramid also represent the Appellate Systemin Indian judiciary . This means that a person can appeal to a higher court if they believe that the judgement passed by the lower court is not just.  This system exists in India. It is the another way that defines the integration of all the levels of courts.

 

Variations

Increasing the numbers of participants to increase tires to make pyramid bigger

Increasing the numbers of participants to increase rows and columns of the base to make pyramid bigger and 3 dimensional.

Coaching Tips

While selecting the children to build the pyramid, keep in mind their physical ability, select children with different physical abilities.

Strongest players with good physical ability to make the base of the pyramid,  children of average physical ability to make the middle part of the pyramid and for  lightest child to make the top of the pyramid.

Equipment/Material Required

It an be played with natural sources. We can use Multi purpose hall, school playground, any court or field and create any platform as base.
