Learning Outcomes

OUR CHANGING EARTH (ACTIVITY)

Learning outcomes – Students will be able to understand about the lithospheric plate movements which causes changes on the surface of the earth. They will also learn about endogenic forces with a recreational game; POISONOUS CIRCLE through which student will be able to understand how sudden movements are produced by endogenic forces and produces slow movements other times. Picture is attached with description.

Description Of Activity

Critically analyses the concept –Enables the student to describe Endogenic forces and the landforms created by forces.

Name of the activity – We can co-relate the endogenic forces with a recreational game called poisonous circle.

i)Draw a large circle, the students will have to hold each other’s hand and stand outside the circle. As soon as the coach/teacher blows the whistle everybody has to pull their friends and try to push them into the circle. Time of the game is ten minutes. During the game whosever leg touches the circle or goes into it he/she will gain a point. The student with least number of points (whose leg will not touch anytime during game) shall be declared as the winner.

Coaching Tips

Teaching Tips – By this game the teacher will be able to develop a concept in the students of endogenic forces and how it works in the earth surface. During this game most of the students touches the circle or gets into it due to which there are few changes seen in the chain of students like the changes occurred on the earth’s surface due to endogenic forces.
