Description Of Activity

How to play

Children will draw 10 columns on the ground.Each column has got surprises.One child will be acting as a moderator.The child should close the eyes and throw a stone inside the column.If the column contains reward he can move two columns further.If the column contains danger  the child should go back.Like that some columns contain some questions .The child should answer the questions of the moderator.If the answer is correct he can move forward.If the child crosses all the columns he will become the king or queen and they can meet the wise hermit.Each child should complete the activity within the the time set by the moderator.

  1. Demonstration: Various ways to hop (5 minutes)
  2. Demonstrate the following hops and have the children hop along with you:
  3. Hop 5 times on right foot then land on both feet
  4. Hop 5 times on left foot then land on both feet
  5. Hop 5 times on right foot then balance on the right foot for 5 seconds
  6. Hop 5 times on left foot then balance on the left foot for 5 seconds
  7. Hop 5 times on right foot then land and balance on left foot
  8. Hop 5 times on left foot then land and balance on right foot
  9. Hop 5 times on right foot then switch and hop 5 times on left foot
  10. Hop 5 times on left foot then switch and hop 5 times on right foot
  11. Jump on two feet, hop on one foot, then repeat
  12. Challenge the children to create their own patterns if time permits
  13. Practice: Red light, green light (5 - 8 minutes)
  14. Leader asks children to spread out along one end of the activity space.
  15. Explain the game Red light, green light.
  16. When I call out green light, hop on your right foot towards the other end of the activity 
    space.
  17. When I call out red light, freeze in a stork stand.
  18. When I call out yellow light, walk slowly towards the other end of the activity space
