Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will be able to visualize  different solid shapes and  build 3D shapes with the help of nets and understand their properties
  2. Learn to work in teams.
  3. Develop critical thinking and creativity.
  4. Develop physical and mental alertness.
  5. Enhancing self discipline and decision making ability
  6. Develop social values .

Description Of Activity

How to play

  1. Students will be divided into 2 groups .
  2. Each group will be given   two solid shapes.
  3. They will be asked to visualize  given solid shapes .
  4. They will be then asked to think how they can make nets of given 3-D shape with help of team members .
  5. After that the solid shapes will be exchanged and again 5 minutes will be given to think to make nets of other solid shapes.
  6. Thereafter two  groups will make two different circles.On the command /whistle the students will move slowly in the circle .After completion of one round or two round to make them to prepare for given task on command .Command will be given to make net of definite solid. Team which finishes first with perfect shape of net will be the winner.Like wise the same will be repeated for 3 or four other solids . The team with more wins will be the winner.
  7. Winner to be rewarded and Appreciation for the rest

Variations

  1. One group will be made performer and other group will be observer.
  2. Other related activities can be arranged .

Coaching Tips

  1. Regular practice of formation of shapes under proper guidance.
  2. Creation of good atmosphere in the field.
