Activity
Understand and demonstrate correct jumping mechanics (arm swing, knee bend, take-off).
Measure and compare jumping distances.
Improve coordination, power, and balance during take-off and landing.
Participate in a fun and competitive movement challenge.
Students begin behind a marked jumping line.
Teacher demonstrates a two-foot take-off, strong arm swing, and soft landing with bent knees.
One student at a time jumps forward as far as possible using both feet.
After landing, the distance is measured from the starting line to the students back heel.
Students take 3 attempts and try to beat their own distance each time.
Optionally, pair students to record each other's distance, promoting teamwork and motivation.
Hop & Jump: One hop + one jump.
Standing Long Jump Relay: Teams jump one after another to cover maximum distance.
Target Landing: Place hoops at different distances—students try to jump into a specific hoop.
Skill Levels: Allow short run-up for advanced students.
Cones or tape to mark start line
Measuring tape or scale
Hoops/chalk markers (for variations)
Soft mat (optional for safe landing)
Score sheets (optional)
