Practise teamwork and communication (if done in pairs/groups)
Students stand in pairs or individually in a safe space.
Teacher demonstrates basic catching cues:
Eyes on the ball
Reach hands toward the ball
Form a cup with both hands
Absorb the impact by bringing hands toward the body
Students throw the ball up themselves (or a partner tosses) and try to catch it cleanly.
Repeat multiple attempts, focusing on technique and control.
High Toss / Low Toss
One-Hand Catching (right then left)
Partner Challenge: Toss to each other with increasing distance
Move & Catch: Walk or jog lightly before tossing
Timed Challenge: How many catches in 30 seconds without dropping?
Soft cricket balls / tennis balls
