How to play
Students will share their knowledge of natural and synthetic fibers by giving examples.
Activity 1: In the playground students will be shown various iron chain structures.
Students will be divided into two three groups and each group will be given iron chain with weight attached to it. Some weight lifting will be done by students. Teacher will explain the process of polymerization by using the iron chain.
Activity 2: Tug of war
Students will be divided into different groups and each group will be given thin rope made up of different fibers all ropes should be of same thickness now students will play tug of war using different ropes. Students will observe rope of which group will break easily and which group has the strongest rope. in this way strength of different fibers is compared. now teacher will explain about the tensile strength of different fibers.
Instead of metallic chains, plastic chains can also be used.
Tug of war game should be played on the grass ground or on any sandy area of the ground so that students do not get hurt while playing.
