Aerobic respiration and Anaerobic respiration

Learning Outcomes

Aerobic respiration takes place in presence of oxygen. Aerobic exercise is the type of moderate physical activity that can sustain for more than few minutes. 

Aerobic exercise are:Running, cycling.

Anaerobic respiration   takes place in absence of oxygen. Anaerobic exercise  can only be sustained for  a short time mainly because  of build up of  lactic acid.

Examples of anaerobic respiration are: Jumping, sprinting etc

Description Of Activity

Group 1:  Running

Participants are told to run 100 mtr.At the end asked to respond whether their breathing  increased.

Group 2:

Participants are told to jump for 5 min and asked whether they experienced pain in muscles of legs
