Description Of Activity

Activity 1:Rainbow Ribbons

Warm-up: Play upbeat music (optional) and have children move freely around the space, stretching their arms, and legs, and jumping up and down.
Play upbeat music (optional) and have children move freely around the space, shaking their bodies and wiggling their ribbons.
Ribbon Twirling :
Distribute ribbons to each child and ask them to hold them up high.
Call out different colors and have children run forward if their ribbon matches the color.
Change the instructions to move backward, sideways, hop on one foot, or skip for different colors.
You can also make it more challenging by calling out two colors at once and having children find a friend with the matching colors to hold hands and move together.
Ribbon Waves: Play calming music (optional) or have children hum a tune.
Instruct children to hold their ribbons out to the side, like waves.
Guide them to slowly move their arms up and down, creating waving motions with the ribbons.
Cool-down: Gather children in a circle and have them sit down. Lead them through some gentle stretches while taking deep breaths.

Activity 2: Ribbon Twirling Twister

Instruct children to hold their ribbons at the end and twirl them in circles, going forward and backward.
Call out different commands like "twirl high," "twirl low," or "twirl fast, twirl slow."
Introduce new movements like twirling the ribbon over their head, under their legs, or around their body.
Ribbon Twister: Play a modified version of Twister.
Instead of body parts, call out instructions for the ribbons (e.g., ribbon up, ribbon down, ribbon over your head).
Children move their ribbons according to the instructions, trying not to get tangled.
Cool-down: Play calming music (optional). Have children lie down on their backs and gently move their ribbons in the air, creating soft shapes.
