Activity Description (20 minutes):
Net Shot Technique:
The net shot is a delicate stroke played close to the net, aimed to drop the shuttlecock just over the net and land softly in the opponent's court. It's essential for controlling the net and putting pressure on your opponent.
Step-by-Step Breakdown:
Grip: Hold the racket with a forehand grip, similar to a handshake. Your thumb and index finger should form a "V" shape around the handle.
Stance: Stand close to the net, with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent. This position provides balance and quickness.
Ready Position: Hold the racket in front of your body, ready to react to the shuttlecock.
Swing: When the shuttlecock is approaching, transfer your weight slightly forward, and use a short, flicking motion of your wrist to lift the shuttlecock gently over the net.
Contact Point: Aim to make contact with the shuttlecock just above the net. A soft touch is crucial for a good net shot.
Follow Through: Finish the swing by bringing your racket back towards your body.
