Activity
Learn and practice the fundamental three-step approach for a jump shot, improve coordination and timing for shooting on the move.
Students practice the three-step rhythm (right-left-jump for right-handed shooters) starting a few meters outside the goal area. On the third step (the jump), they release the ball towards a goal with a stationary or semi-active goalkeeper.
Focus on the footwork without the ball initially.
Practice shooting at different heights and angles.
Introduce a slight angle to the approach.
The goalkeeper can start moving laterally.
Emphasize the rhythm and coordination of the steps.
Ensure the jump is upwards and slightly forward.
Focus on transferring power from the legs to the arm during the jump and release.
Handballs, handball goal, goalkeeper.
