Activity
Demonstrate proper Volleyball serving technique (stance, toss, contact).
Improve accuracy and control while serving to a target.
Develop consistency in underhand or overhand serves.
Work cooperatively in a group setting to maintain rhythm and precision.
Students form a large circle, each holding a volleyball.
On the teachers command, all students perform an underhand serve to the player directly across the circle.
The receiving player catches the ball and immediately performs a serve back to someone across the circle.
The drill continues with a continuous pattern of serve catch serve.
For older or advanced students, switch to overhand serves and allow volley catches instead of full catches.
Ensure students maintain proper serving technique and avoid hitting too hard.
Target Serving: Place cones or hoops inside the circle; players aim at the target before it reaches a partner.
Move Back Challenge: Increase the distance between players after successful rounds.
Only Overhand Round: All players perform overhand serves.
Rotate Positions: Players rotate clockwise after each serve to practice serving to different angles.
Underhand Serve:
Step forward with opposite foot.
Swing arm like a pendulum.
Hit ball with heel of hand.
Overhand Serve:
Consistent toss (slightly in front).
Contact with open palm.
Shift weight forward.
Aim chest-high toward target.
Call out the name of the receiver for communication.
