Activity Description:
Grip Demonstration:
Demonstrate the Eastern, Western, and Semi-Western grips using a racket and ball.
Explain the key characteristics of each grip, such as the position of the fingers and the angle of the racket handle.
Grip Identification:
Set up rackets with different grips in various locations around the court.
Have students move around the court, identify the grip on each racket, and hold it correctly.
Grip Practice:
Students practice holding each grip individually, focusing on the correct finger placement and hand position.
Encourage students to experiment with different grips and feel the differences in how the racket feels in their hand.
Cool-down:
Static stretches (holding stretches for 10-15 seconds): calf stretch, hamstring stretch, quad stretch, triceps stretch, shoulder stretch
Use different types of rackets (e.g., wooden, graphite) to compare grip feel.
