Activity
Develop the ability to observe and imitate movements, introduce basic feinting actions while dribbling.
Students pair up. One student (the leader) dribbles and performs simple feints (e.g., a step to the side, a change of pace, a slight body fake). The other student (the follower) tries to mirror the dribbling and feinting movements.
Increase the complexity and speed of the feints.
Have students take turns being the leader.
Focus on specific types of feints (e.g., crossover, step-over).
Start with slow and deliberate feints.
Emphasize the importance of selling the feint with body movement.
Encourage the follower to stay close and react quickly.
Handballs (one per pair), open space.
