Activity
Develop basic catching and chest passing skills, improve hand-eye coordination, learn to move to receive a pass.
Students form a circle. One or two players start with a handball. They pass the ball to someone across the circle and then move to take their place. Emphasize catching with two hands and making a direct chest pass.
Use two balls to increase the pace and awareness.
Pass in a specific order around the circle.
Introduce a rule that the passer must call the receiver's name.
Use different types of passes (e.g., bounce pass).
Stress catching the ball with soft hands, forming a "basket."
Focus on pushing the ball from the chest with a flick of the wrists.
Encourage players to step towards their target when passing.
Remind players to move to create space to receive the ball.
