Learning Outcomes

Understand the basic throwing technique in cricket.
Develop the ability to throw with accuracy and control.
Improve the strength and coordination of the throwing arm.

Description Of Activity

Players are paired up or placed in small groups.
Each player will practice throwing a cricket ball over a short distance, focusing on the basic mechanics: stance, grip, and arm motion.
The coach will demonstrate the proper form, ensuring players have a firm grip on the ball, and that the throwing motion is smooth, using the shoulder, elbow, and wrist in sequence.

Variations

Gradually increase the throwing distance as players improve their accuracy and strength.
Change the target, asking players to throw the ball to a specific area or to a partner.

Coaching Tips

Focus on the importance of a stable base, with feet shoulder-width apart.
Emphasize a follow-through after releasing the ball to prevent injury and increase power.
Ensure the players rotate their shoulders and use their full arm extension for optimal power.
