Description Of Activity

Have children balance on one foot while attempting to catch a soft ball or beanbag tossed to them by a partner.
Encourage children to stand tall, keeping their arms out to help with balance.
After catching the object, switch legs to balance on the other foot.

Variations

Introduce challenges by using different types of balls (e.g., a larger or smaller ball).
Ask children to catch the ball in various positions, like reaching or jumping while balancing.

Coaching Tips

Remind children to focus on the ball and their balance simultaneously.
Encourage them to adjust their posture if they feel like they’re losing balance.
