Learning Outcomes

Description Of Activity

Ask children to sit on a soft mat or floor and roll backward in a controlled manner, maintaining balance as they go.
Once they reach the end of their roll, they should return to a balanced sitting position.
As they gain confidence, ask them to try rolling forward as well, while maintaining control of their balance throughout the activity.

Variations

Increase the complexity by adding objects to pick up during the roll.

Coaching Tips

Demonstrate how to roll gently and use their arms for control during the roll.
Encourage them to keep their head tucked and avoid rolling too quickly to maintain balance.
