Description Of Activity

Ask children to stand on one foot, then hop forward with both feet.
After landing, they need to find their balance again on one foot.
Repeat the hopping and balancing cycle, focusing on landing softly and keeping balance.

Variations

Increase the distance of the hop or add a set of cones to hop over.
Ask children to perform a series of hops on one foot, balancing after each hop.

Coaching Tips

Encourage children to bend their knees when landing to absorb the shock and keep balance.
Remind them to use their arms for better stability when jumping and landing.
