Rolling Like a Ball

Description Of Activity

Sit on the floor with knees pulled to the chest and hands on the shins.
Roll back gently onto the back, keeping the body curled like a ball.
Roll back up to sitting without using hands for support.
Repeat the rolling motion 5 times.

Variations

For younger students, assist with rolling back up.
For more advanced children, challenge them to perform the roll without falling or touching the hands to the floor.

Coaching Tips

Keep the core engaged while rolling to maintain control.
Encourage soft, smooth movements to avoid injury.
Remind students to use their abs rather than momentum to return to sitting.
