Learning Outcomes

Develop hand-eye coordination.
Improve basic catching and bouncing skills.
Understand the concept of force and control.

Description Of Activity

Children will practice bouncing a ball on the ground and then try to catch it. You can start by showing them how to bounce it gently and catch it, and gradually increase the challenge by bouncing it higher or asking them to bounce it twice before catching it.

Variations

Bounce the ball against a wall and try to catch it as it returns.
Play in pairs, where one child bounces the ball and the other catches.

Coaching Tips

Demonstrate the activity first.
Encourage children to keep their hands open while catching to avoid the ball slipping.
Start with a soft, large ball for easier control.

Equipment/Material Required

Soft, bouncy balls.
