Activity
Children will develop core strength and coordination.
Children will practice body control and muscle endurance.
Children will race by walking on their knees (without using hands for support) to a designated finish line. This strengthens the legs and core muscles.
Introduce “obstacles” they must crawl under, such as low furniture or mats.
Make it a team race where children help each other across the line.
Show children how to bend their knees and keep their body upright while walking.
Remind children to move slowly at first, as it can be challenging.
Encourage laughter and fun to make it less about competition and more about effort.
Soft mats for safety.
