Hula Hoop Challenge

Learning Outcomes

Description Of Activity

Children will try to keep a hula hoop spinning around their waist, arms, or even legs. This can be done individually or in pairs.

Variations

Set up hula hoop races where children race to spin a hoop around their waist.
Try spinning the hoop on different body parts (e.g., arms, knees).
Incorporate team challenges where groups work together to spin multiple hoops.

Coaching Tips

Demonstrate how to move the hips or arms in a rhythmic, circular motion to keep the hoop spinning.
Encourage children to practice and develop their coordination with simple movements at first.
