Hopping on One Foot

Description Of Activity

Children will practice hopping on one foot for a few seconds at a time. After they finish on one foot, they can switch to the other foot.

Variations

Have children hop on one foot for longer periods as they gain confidence.
Use a fun “hopping game” where children hop to a specific target (e.g., hop to a line or object).

Coaching Tips

Demonstrate hopping on one foot slowly and with control.
Encourage children to hold their arms out to help with balance.
Remind them to try to keep their body still while hopping, focusing on their foot position.
