2. Introduction to the Body Feint (10 minutes)
Demonstration & Explanation:
Show the technique: Step to one side with the body and shoulder, then push the ball in the opposite direction.
Key coaching points:
Low center of gravity
Drop the shoulder convincingly
Explosive movement after the feint
Keep the ball close
Activity: Players practice the body feint statically in pairs
One player feints, the other mimics or observes
Switch roles after 5 reps
3. Technical Drill (10 minutes)
Activity: Body Feint Cone Dribble
Set up cones in a zigzag pattern
Players dribble toward each cone, perform a body feint, then continue
Focus on quick, realistic execution
Progression: Add passive defenders for realism
4. 1v1 Situations (15 minutes)
Activity: 1v1 Feint Challenge
Create small 10x10 m grids
One attacker, one defender
Attacker starts with the ball and attempts to beat the defender using the body feint
Defender is passive at first, then active
5. Small-Sided Game (10 minutes)
Activity: 4v4 or 5v5 game on small field
Award extra points for successful body feints that lead to beating a defender
Encourage players to apply the skill in context
6. Cool Down and Review (5 minutes)
Activity: Light jogging, stretching
Discussion:
What worked well?
When is the best moment to use the body feint?
Encourage creativity and confidence
Reinforce timing and distance for the feint
Sell the feint with shoulder and hip movement
Use quick changes of direction
Eyes up to scan the defender and space
