Learning Outcomes

Students will practice accurate catching with both hands.

Improve hand–eye coordination and timing.

Develop focus, reaction, and body control.

Build cooperation when working with a partner.

Description Of Activity

Give each child or pair one soft ball/beanbag.

Students stand in a ready position (knees slightly bent, hands open).

They must complete 5 successful catches in a row without dropping the ball.

If the ball drops, they start again from zero.

Once they achieve 5 catches, they try again from a slightly longer distance or with a different type of object.

Key Cues for Students:

Hands out!

Watch the ball!

Soft hands.

Bring the ball to your chest after catching.
