Activity
Improve hand–eye coordination through timed catching.
Develop focus and quick reaction skills.
Enhance ability to control force while tossing and catching.
Build confidence in performing individual catching tasks.
Each student holds a soft ball or beanbag.
Students toss the ball slightly above head height.
Before catching, they must clap once (Class 1), twice (Class 2), or as many as possible (Class 3).
They try to complete 5 successful clap-and-catches without dropping the ball.
If dropped, they restart their count.
Teacher Cues:
Small toss, not too high!
Clap fast, then soft hands.
Eyes on the ball.
Partner Clap Catch: Partner tosses → student claps → catches.
Change Object: Use scarves (easy), beanbags (medium), or soft balls (harder).
Movement Catch: Students clap and catch while taking small steps forward.
Challenge Round: How many claps can they do before the catch?
Soft balls or beanbags
