Description Of Activity

Mark a straight line or lane (36 meters).

Students stand sideways with knees slightly bent.

On the teachers signal, students side-walk (step-together-step) to the end line.

They return walking normally, then repeat 34 rounds.

Focus on facing forward (body straight) while stepping side-to-side.

Teacher Cues:

Sideways, not forward!

Step together step.

Keep your tummy tight.

Look ahead, not at your feet.

Variations

Pre-Nursery & Nursery

Side walk with hands on hips.

Move slowly to soft music.

Side walk holding a beanbag on the head (balance).

Class KG

Side walk through zig-zag cones.

Side walk while clapping.

Side walk with a small soft toy in hand.

Class 1

Side walk to a cone → touch it → side walk back.

Side walk with high knees sideways.

Partner side walking (holding hands).

Class 2

Side walk fast → slow → fast.

Side walk carrying a ball without dropping it.
