Activity
Students develop goalkeeping skills such as positioning, footwork, and quick reactions.
Improve hand-eye coordination and catching/deflecting ability.
Build agility and balance while moving to protect the goal.
Enhance decision-making by choosing when to catch, block, or deflect the ball.
Encourage teamwork and fair play during turns as shooters and goalkeepers.
Mark a small goal using two cones or sticks.
One player becomes the Goalkeeper (GK) and stands between the cones.
Other players stand 35 meters away with a football.
On the coach/teachers signal, shooters take turns lightly kicking or rolling the ball toward the goal.
The GK tries to stop, catch, or deflect the ball to keep it from entering the goal.
After 56 turns, rotate the goalkeeper so every child gets a chance.
Continue for multiple rounds, increasing challenge as needed.

Key Teaching Points: Promote fun & enjoyment. Also, highlight the players who stop the ball effectively
Grade Level Progression
Rolling Ball Only: Beginners roll the ball instead of kicking to build confidence.
Bounce Shot: Players bounce the ball before kicking for unpredictability.
Two-Goalkeepers: Two students guard the goal together to encourage teamwork.
Narrow/Wide Goal: Adjust cone distance to increase or decrease difficulty.
Shooter Challenge: Shooters must aim for corners or use weak foot.
Remind GK to stay on their toes, not flat-footed.
Encourage side-step footwork, not crossing legs.
Teach GK to keep hands ready in front of their body.
Praise correct technique even if the ball goes in.
Ensure safe play—no hard shots for younger children.
