Activity
Develops hand–eye coordination by controlling ball direction.
Improves fine motor skills through gentle rolling.
Enhances spatial awareness and ability to follow a path.
Builds focus and concentration while guiding the ball.
Encourages movement control and understanding of force (soft push).
Lay a rope on the ground in a zig-zag shape (like a snake pattern).
Give each child a small soft ball.
Students stand at the start of the rope.
On the signal, they gently roll the ball along the zig-zag rope path.
The goal is to keep the ball within the rope path without letting it roll outside.
They walk beside the ball, guiding it slowly through each turn.
When they reach the end, they pick up the ball and return to try again or switch roles with a partner.
Timed Challenge: How fast can they complete it while still staying inside the rope?
Partner Zig-Zag: One child rolls, the other walks beside giving directions.
Backward Start: Students begin at the end and roll back to the start.
Different Shapes: Create an S-shape, circle path, or wave path with ropes.
Obstacle Zig-Zag: Place cones or hoops beside the rope for added navigation.
Remind students to use two hands for better control.
Encourage slow, gentle pushes instead of strong hits.
Tell them to follow the ball with their eyes and feet.
Spread students out to avoid bumping into each other.
Celebrate effort—staying inside the path is the focus, not speed.
1 long rope per group (or multiple short ropes tied)
Soft balls or small rubber balls
Cones (optional for marking lanes)
Open safe space
