Activity
Develops hand–eye coordination by controlling the ball’s direction and speed.
Improves motor skills such as pushing, guiding, and stopping a rolling ball.
Enhances spatial awareness while moving and aiming the ball.
Builds focus, control, and understanding of force (soft vs. strong push).
Encourages teamwork when working with partners or groups.
Give each child a small soft ball.
Ask them to stand in an open space and start by gently rolling the ball forward.
Students walk to collect the ball and roll it again.
Practice rolling:
Straight line
To a partner
Between cones
To hit a target (bottle or cone)
Students repeat the rolling in different directions, focusing on control rather than speed.
Partner Roll: Roll the ball back and forth to a friend.
Target Roll: Roll the ball to knock down a cone/bottle.
Zig-Zag Roll: Roll through a set of cones placed in a zig-zag pattern.
Distance Challenge: Roll softly for short distance, stronger push for longer distance.
Rolling Race: Students roll the ball to a marked line and run to pick it up.
Encourage children to use two hands at first for better control.
Teach them to bend knees and push gently, not throw the ball.
Remind them to watch the ball while rolling.
Emphasize smooth rolling, not speed.
Ensure children keep enough space between each other.
