Activity
Students will improve both attacking and defensive heading techniques.
Students will develop timing and directional control while heading.
Students will practice communication and teamwork during heading sequences.
Students will learn to jump and meet the ball early for better control.
Players begin by gently tossing the ball to start the sequence.
The groups goal is to keep the ball in the air using only headers.
After heading, each player aims to send the ball high enough to give the next teammate time to:
Prepare body shape
Adjust their position
Communicate and time their header
Players continue heading around the circle without the ball touching the ground.
Encourage players to use proper technique: strong posture, firm neck, and clear calls.
Adjust Spacing
Increase distance between players to challenge accuracy.
Decrease distance to encourage quicker reactions and communication.
2. Add a Physical Challenge
After heading, the player must complete one quick activity before heading again:
1 push-up
1 sit-up
2 star jumps
Touch the ground and return to position
Marked playing area (appropriate size for the age group)
1 soft football or lightweight training ball per group
