Partner Medicine Ball Throws (Core Strength & Power)

Learning Outcomes

Developed rotational core strength.
Improved explosive power in the upper body and core.
Enhanced coordination between upper and lower body.
Builds muscular endurance.

Description Of Activity

Students pair up and stand facing each other, approximately 3-5 meters apart (adjust distance based on weight of ball and student strength).
Throw 1: Rotational Chest Pass: Students hold the medicine ball with both hands at chest height. They rotate their torso, bringing the ball to one side, then explosively rotate and throw the ball to their partner using a chest pass motion. They should follow through with their arms and hips. Alternate sides with each throw.
Throw 2: Overhead Slam (Individual): Students stand with the medicine ball overhead. They then powerfully slam the ball down to the ground directly in front of them, engaging their core and glutes. Partner retrieves the ball.
Throw 3: Russian Twist Pass: Students sit on the ground facing each other, knees bent, feet slightly off the ground (if possible for core engagement). They twist their torso from side to side, passing the medicine ball between them.

Equipment/Material Required
