Activity
Develop accuracy in passing and shooting.
Improve control and focus while kicking.
Enhance decision-making in aiming for targets.
Build confidence in striking the ball with both feet.
Set up several cones, small goals, or flat markers in different areas of the pitch (each representing a target).
Players form a line behind the starting point, each with a football.
On the coachs signal, the first player attempts to kick the ball toward a chosen target.
Points are awarded if the ball hits or passes through the target area.
Example: Small cone = 2 points, Mini goal = 5 points.
After kicking, the player retrieves the ball and joins the back of the line.
Continue for a set time (e.g., 5 minutes) or until all players have had multiple turns.
Distance Challenge: Move targets farther away to increase difficulty.
Weak Foot Only: Players must use their non-dominant foot.
Timed Kicks: Players have 10 seconds to shoot as many accurate kicks as possible.
Moving Target: Another player or coach slowly moves a cone/hoop to make it harder.
Encourage players to keep their eyes on the ball while aiming at the target.
Focus on correct body position: non-kicking foot beside the ball, striking with laces/inside foot.
Remind players to follow through toward the target.
Keep it fun and competitive to maintain motivation.
Football (1 per player if possible)
Cones, hoops, or small goals for targets
Whistle/stopwatch (for timed variations)
