Serve Practice

Learning Outcomes

Students will learn the correct grip and technique for serving.
Students will be able to consistently serve the ball into the court.
 

Description Of Activity

Warm-up:

Light jog around the court
Arm circles, leg swings
Shadow serving

Grip: Demonstrate the continental grip for serving.
Technique: Explain the phases of the serve: the stance, the toss, the swing, and the follow-through.
Practice: Have students practice serving against a wall or into a net.
Game Play: Incorporate serving into short games to simulate match play.

Cool Down: Static stretches, such as calf stretches, hamstring stretches, and quadriceps stretches.
Deep breathing exercises.
