 How to Play

  1. Teacher calls all children to stand behind a line or in a circle to explain the rules of the game.
  2. When teacher calls out a number from 1 to 10 or 1 to 20, children have to run to find partners to make groups of that number.
  3. Let's say teacher calls out 4 and blows whistle. Children have to quickly run and make groups of 4 by holding hands. Teacher asks them what shape did they make? Children say SQUARE or QUADRILATERAL
  4. The children who cannot be part of any group is OUT.
  5. Teacher again calls out another number - say 3. Children run quickly make teams of 3 by holding hands. Teacher asks them about the shape. They say TRIANGLE.
  6. The children who cannot be part of any group are OUT.
  7. Game continues with different whole numbers.
  8. Teacher should select numbers where there is no remainder and that no one is left out. The no. of children left out in this case is ZERO.
  9. Teacher have variations in calling out numbers
  10. One less than 5
  11. Two more than 1
  12. Predecessor, Successor
  13. Sum of 2 and 3
  14. Game continues till Teacher wants to.

Variations

Teacher can call out numbers in increasing order from 1, 2, 3 10, 12, 12 etc. to show that the shape will change from line to triangle and eventually assume shape of a circle. In case a child is OUT, get him/her back into the game.
