Description Of Activity

How to play

Assemble the class at the end of a line. On the ground, draw the shape as given the diagram that looks like a funnel and 4 parallel lines at equal distance. The 4 areas are called:

1. Cloud
2. Mountain
3. River
4. Ocean

When Teacher blows the whistle, the children will move from from area to next area.

In the first area (Cloud), students will run alone.

When they get into second area (Mountain), two children join together and tie their legs (two legged) 
When they get into third area (River), two children join together and tie their legs (three legged) 
When they get into fourth area (Ocean), two children join together and tie their legs (three legged)

When they reach the ocean, they can untie themselves and get released. They can join back first area (Cloud). 

Teacher can talk about Characteristics of each state of water - gas, ice and liquid (water) and how it happens seamlessly.

Variations

Same game can be used for demonstrating Rock Cycle:

2. Metamorphic Rocks 
3. Sedimentary=
4. Igneous rock

Coaching Tips

Teacher can modify nomenclature and concept of change of state in Science, Social Science, Hindi as per requirement
