100 meter Race

Learning Outcomes

Measure , calculate and compare the  speed of various moving objects. 

Measure the time taken for covering a particular distance using stop watch.

 

Description Of Activity

Assemble children at the start of an athletic track (one student from each group will Participate in race- 100 meter.)

Other students in every group will have group roles like noting the time to complete the race by participants by using stop watch.

Recall the mathematical formula for speed and students will calculate speed for their observation.

Variations

One or two small obstacles can be put in track or curvy track to teach the concept of uniform and non uniform speed 

Coaching Tips

Encouraging students to play safely and guide them to note the time accurately and honestly.

They should keep proper record of time taken by students of their team for comleting the sprint.
