Fitness Flash Cards Training

Learning Outcomes

  1. To find out / investigate various sources of components of food by sports activity
  2. The student will be able to learn about  various sources of components of food and their functions in the body in joyful manner.
  3. The student will be able to learn about collaboration, patience, self confidence, quick movement with proper body balance.
  4. The student will be able to learn about team sprit,micro-observation, time management and reading skill. etc

Description Of Activity

How to Play

Activity 1. 

  1. The students will be divided into 4-5 groups and ask to prepare flash cards containing information about sources of components of food and their functions in the human body. e.g. Protein, Fat, carbohydrate,Vitamins and Minerals-salts.
  2. After preparation of flash cards and before starting activity the rules of the activity will be announced in front of the teams.
  3. The rules will be - (i) The members of each team will collect flash cards by jumping in boxes as indicating in above image by using single leg and both legs alternatively.
  4. If the team member failed to maintain balance than he/she will be outed and next member will come. In this way activity will be proceeded.
  5. After collecting flash card the team leader or the member will read information on flash card loudly and in this process time will be noted.
  6. The team complete this activity in less time accurately will be winner.

Activity 2.

  1. Create a large circle or grid with Fitness Station Cards numbering and identifying each station.
  2. Place pencils next to station cards. Set up equipment according to each station on the Fitness Challenge Card and food items.
  3. Create groups of 2-4 students. Send each group to a different station to begin the rotation

Activity Description

  1. Today were going to complete a series of Skill-Related Fitness Challenges by working in stations and then rotating after 3 minutes.
  2. Look at the station number where you are starting. Be sure to start with the same number on your challenge card (teachers provide an example). Write down the correct component of skill-related fitness next to each activity.
  3. I will be at Station 12 helping with your individual assessment.

Variations

Activity 1. 

  1. The change in numbers and information on flash card may vary.
  2. The time to complete the activity may be fixed .
  3. Boxes for sports activity may be less or more as per need of hours.

Activity 2.

  1. Provide detailed instruction for each station and post discussion questions at Station 12.
  2. This will allow you to circulate and supervise all stations.
  3. Provide a brief overview of each station and observe student performance as an assessment of reading and content comprehension.
  4. Give students 1 minute to read and review the challenge card, then check for understanding.

 

 

Coaching Tips

  1. The demonstration of activity may be done in front of the students to ensure maximum accuracy and emphasizing on the main learning concepts.
  2. On signal reset the station equipment and rotate to the next

Equipment/Material Required

  1. CHART PAPER OR CARD BOARD,timer,whistle, Permanent markers of various color for flash card, Lime for marking the boxes etc.
  2. Four cones for boundaries (same color).
  3. Spot marker as per need.
  4. 1 Skill-Related Fitness Challenge Card per group
