Students will be able to understand that nature of surface affects force of friction.

Students will understand that by Carrom powder surface of Carrom board is made smoother.

Students will understand that smooth surfaces reduces force of friction.

Students will understand that when friction is reduced speed of object increases .

Description Of Activity

Students are taken out of class to sports room

They are divided into groups of four students.

They are provided with Carrom board ,carrom board pieces and strikers

Half of the groups are given Carrom powder also.

Few students are acting as time keepers ,they will record timing and observe game.

 

Variations

Carrom Board with Plastic coating

Carrom board pieces made up of plastics or wooden.

Coaching Tips

Children are advised to place the carrom board on plane surfaces.
