Educational musical chair

Class 7
Chapter:
Concept:

Educational musical chair

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will be able to understand the reasons why children from Dalit, Adivasi and Muslim communities leave school before completing Primary school. And they will understand the gender discrimination faced by girls in their own families.
  2. This game helps teach kids to resolve arguments peacefully, deal with disappointment and practice patience. Set chairs in a circle, one fewer than the number of children in the game, and then play music as kids walk around the circle. Every time the music stops, children must try to sit on a chair.

Description Of Activity

In a musical chair game, 40 chairs are arranged and make a circle, with the allocation of 5 chairs as Muslim girls (Primary), 10 chairs each as Adivasi girls (Primary) and 15 chairs as Dalit girls (each chair to be written as mentioned above), 10 chairs to be kept as blank.

In this particular game, all the 40 students will be involved with one chair- one student representing Primary girls (Class 1-5). Gradually with the start of the game, we have to pull out the 10 given blank chairs indicating as left out/wastage from the period beginning from class 1 to 5. Thus, the game may ended accordingly with the given allocated chairs (5-Muslim; 10-Adivasi and 15-Dalit)

This means that Girls who are from Dalit and Adivasi backgrounds are likely to remain in school than the Muslim girls
