Description Of Activity

Students are guided to form a single line heightwise and asked to count 1 to 6 from the little one and six groups are formed with equal number of participants. Now they are instructed to stand at the start line with their respective groups in caterpillar formation. The rules and procedures are illustrated to the children by the volunteers with the help of a demo. At a distance of 10 metres from the start line, a finish line is marked. The respective groups will reach the finish line through caterpillar walk , each one of the participants wearing only one shoe of their pair. And the other shoe of each participant will be collected by the volunteers and scattered randomly at a distance of 30 metres from the finish line in an open area.  Now the group which will reach the finish line first will be free to go, trace , identify , collect and wear their respective shoes. Now they have to form the caterpillar structure once again and sit at their initial position. The group which will accomplish the task foremost , will be announced as the winner .

The winners are awarded an opportunity to serve as volunteers for the next sports integrated class .

 

 

 

Variations

The groups may be allowed to search for their shoes in chain formation.
