Description Of Activity

Basic rules of Football Match

  1. A football match is played by two teams, with each allowed no more than 11 players on the field at any one time, one of whom is a goalkeeper.
  2. A match is played in two 45 minute halves.
    The game begins with the toss of a coin, and the winning captain decides which goal to defend or to take the first kick off.
  3. All players must use their feet head or chest to play the ball. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands, and only within their designated goal area.
  4. The aim of the game is to score a goal, which is achieved by kicking or heading the ball into the opposition team's goal.
    If the ball touches or crosses the side line, it is thrown back in by the team that was not the last to touch the ball.
  5. The game is controlled by a central referee, and two linesmen. They award free kicks and penalties when rules are broken. For continual breaking of rules or for a bad foul, the player may be sent off.
     

The activity done through football match.

  1. The class will be divided into 2 teams. Each team have 11 players. 
  2. There will be 2 sets of match. 
  3. In 1st set of match the first team is represented as a nation which has no constitutive rules for their citizens like nepal and 2nd team is represented as privileged class in Nepal. 
  4. During football match lots of trouble started like from begining because both teams are not following any rule of game of football. 
  5. They are fighting for each point and they are trying to prove themselve right.Second team players trying to impose there decisions on players of first team. During match so many players get hurt. 
  6. There are no refrees in this game because game has no fixed rules and ultimately match has to be cancel.
  7. In the second set of match both teams are bind to rules of football and these two teams represent as Indian nation. 
  8. During match all players have to follow rules of football game and there will be two refree,their decision will be last for both teams. 
  9. Match runs smoothly like a nation which has set constitutive rules for citizens. In this match there are no fight among players if any scuffle begin in match then immediate refree interfere and resolve it. Result of match was draw.

 

Variations

This activity can be done with other games.

Coaching Tips

Teachers can give example of both match for nation which have not democratic rules and have democratic rules.

Equipment/Material Required

Football,Chalk powder for demarcation,net for goalpost etc.
