The Indian Constitution -Hockey Match

1. Students learn about constitute assembly which founded in 1946 and met periodically for the next three years to write India's constitution.
2. Students learn how respect for maintaining diversity while preserving national unity.
3. Students learn about key feature of Indian constitution federalism,Parliamentary form of government,Separation of power,Fundamental rights and Secularism.

Description Of Activity

How to play

1. Activity done through a hockey match.
2. Class divided into 2 teams each team contains 11 players. Match time will be 40 minutes and match will be played into 2 half's each half will be of 20 minutes.
3. Both teams,Hockey court and referee represent as key feature of constitution
4. Placement of players on ground represent as federalism. Forward players as central govt. , Defense players as state government and goalkeeper/goalpost as Panchromatic. 
5. Hockey ground and both teams represent as parliamentary form of government. Hockey ground represent as parliament and both teams as Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
6. Rules of Hockey game,players and referees represent as separation of powers.Rules of Hockey game represent as Legislative,players represent as Executive and referees represent as Judiciary.
7. Goalkeeper wear's special equipment to safeguard his life.These safety equipment represent as fundamental rights.
8. Hockey ball represent as Secularism(Secular state) it is neutral with both teams.
9. Match begin with 1st half both teams are ready to play right from begging 1st team players are playing well because their players have good coordination. In 1st half first team in attacking mood. 2nd team players are also playing good but looking little lack of coordination.During match 2nd team player desperately hit on the body of 1st team player.It is against rule of hockey game. Referee call both of them and warn 2nd team player.Due to act of 2nd team player referee give penalty corner to 1st team. 1st team convert penalty corner into goal now first team get 1 point. Now 1st half is going to end still match score is 1-0 and referee whistle blew declared that 1st half is over.
10. After 5 minutes second half begins but this time 2nd team playing much better than 1st half.Now second team players are showing good coordination between players. 2nd team is in attacking mood but first team is defended every attack of 2nd team. Time is running fast for 2nd team because they want to get point. But 1st team blocked every move of 2nd team gradually match is at last moment.Second team players reached near goalpost.One player of 2nd team hit ball towards the goalpost for goal but goalkeeper cleverly stop ball by hand. This time 2nd team could not goal. Referee blew whistle and declared that 2nd half is finished.Match result teams 1st won by one goal.Both team hugged each other before leave the ground.

During match teacher have to be vegilent about key feature of constitution.
