Obstacle Course Challenge

Description Of Activity

Warm-up (5 minutes)
Light jog around the area.
High knees, butt kicks, and arm circles.
Jumping jacks.
Neck rolls, shoulder rolls, and hip circles.
Light stretching of arms, legs, and torso.

Set-up: 
Create an obstacle course using cones, hula hoops, ropes, benches, and other available equipment. Divide the class into groups of 4-5 students.

Instructions:
Explain the rules: Each group must complete the obstacle course as quickly as possible without making any mistakes.
Demonstrate the correct way to perform each obstacle.
Allow groups to practice each obstacle individually before starting the course.
Start the timer for each group as they begin the course.
Encourage teamwork and cooperation among group members.
Provide feedback and encouragement throughout the activity.

Obstacle ideas:
Crawl under a low rope.
Jump over the cones.
Balance on a beam or line.
Climb over a bench.
Hop through hula hoops.
Run through a tunnel (made with cones and ropes).

Cool-down (5 minutes)
Static stretches: holding a stretch for 10-15 seconds.
Stretch major muscle groups: legs, arms, back, and neck.
Encourage deep breathing and relaxation.

Variations

Change the obstacles to create different challenges.
Add time limits or scoring systems.
Incorporate relay races or competitions between groups.
Use different equipment to create unique obstacles.
