Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to understand transportation in animals in respect of blood flow throughout the body.
- Students will be able to explain the functions of organs involved in the circulation of blood such as-Heart,arteries,veins,capillaries etc.
- Students will be able to explore blood vessels by watching video clip and conducting a role -play activity.
- Students will be able to elaborate by preparing a colored picture of blood flow(transportation) to ,through and from heart.
Description Of Activity
How to play
- Students will be divided into two teams, Team A and Team B each will compete for maximum marks by identyfying the stage and answering question asked by the teacher.
- Four chambers of heart total 8 students - 2 students(nilgiri house t shirt green colour)right auricle,2 students (nilgiri house t shirt green colour)left auricle,2 students (shivalik house tshirt yellow colour) right ventricle,2 students(shivalik house t shirt yellow colour)left ventricle.
- Two students in check uniform will play lungs and 2 students with white uniform will play remaining body part.
- Two students in Shivalik red house t shirt will play arteries carrying oxygenated blood and 2 students in Aravali blue house t shirt will play veins carrying deoxygenated blood.
- Two students in Shivalik red house t shirt and blue headband will play Pulmonary vein and 2 students in Aravali blue house t shirt and red headband will play Pulmonary artery.
- On blackboard (in the field) colour of t shirt and the role played will be written.
- The game will start by team in the role play get up with students as heart chambers,lungs and body part standing with their hands joined together and chanting the song posampa bhai posampa......and the students playing arteries and veins will pass through the chambers,lungs and body in the same manner as blood circulation.
- When the song ends the circulation will stop and team B members will have to tell at which stage of blood circulation has stopped and 1 question pertaining to that particular will be asked by the teacher and likwise numbers will be alloted.
- Then again the same game will be repeated with team B in role play and team A answering the questions.
Variations
Teacher can vary the role assigned accoding to his/her convenience.
