Description Of Activity
How to play
Relay race ( Circuit Activity with different members of the team representing different animals found during monsoon)
- 8 teams will be formed, each comprising of 4 children in each lane of the track.
- Running length ( 100 meters ) will be fixed. Marking on the track will be done.
- It member of the team will do Frog jumping , 2nd member to do Crawling, 3rd member to do Sliding and 4th member to do Duck walking. Each member will cover 25 meters.
- As the whistle blows, the first member of the team will move ( Frog jumping) and pass the baton to the 2nd member of his/her team. He/she will move ( Crawling) and pass the baton to the 3rd member. The 3rd member will move ( Sliding/Slithering ) and pass the baton to the 4th member. He/ she will do Duck walking and cover the last 25 meters unto finishing point.
- The team reaching the finishing point its will be the winner
- 1st Member - 25 m, 2nd Member- 25 m, 3rd Member (Frog Jumping) (Crawling) 25 m, 4th Member 25 m Finishing Point (Sliding/Slithering) (Duck Walking)
Variations
Instead of movements of these animals, the movements of other animals or insects can be included or even Flora ( swaying) can be included.
Coaching Tips
- If possible, this lesson can be taken up during monsoon season to relate it with surroundings at that time . The students can be asked to identify the Flora available in school.
- The learners can be told and guided about Rain Water Harvesting.
