Learning Outcomes

While dribbling and keeping the ball under control in pressure situations
Description Of Activity
How to Play
Take all the students to the ground.
Teacher should stand at a point and ask all other students to stand at equal distance from him/her.
Students on trial and error stand in the shape of a circle.
Now teacher explains the students that circle is a figure formed by joining all the points that are at equal distance from a fixed point. Fixed point is called as Center of the circle.
Now ask some of the students to measure the distance between him and to any of the students. Students find that the distances are equal. Teacher explains the students that the equal distance is called as radius.
Give a ball to each of the students and ask them to move in the circle while dribbling the ball and also keep passing the ball to the next child as shown in the video.
To introduce the concept of a circle we can ask the students first stand in the shape of an equilateral triangle , then in the shape of a square, then in the shape of a regular pentagon and so on.
Then teacher should ask the children if we increase the number of sides of the regular polygon what shape we are going to get.
Students will find that as the number of sides of regular polygon increases the shape they becomes round and round and ultimately they will stand in the shape of a circle.
