1.Students will be able to use direct and indirect method to describe profit and loss percentage.
2. Students will be able to use the concept of ratio and percentage in profit and loss percentage.
3.Students will be able to apply the knowledge of profit an loss in their daily life.
4. Students will be able to apply the knowledge of profit and loss percentage in finding discount and discount percentage.
1.Teacher asks student to divide in two groups of 9 members each for playing kho-kho game and name them Team A and Team B.
2.Students starts playing the game Team A gets the chance of chasing members of Team B and Team B members try to avoid being touched by members of opposing team.
3.But after some minutes out of 9 members of Team B , 3 members are declared “out”.
4. Teacher asks student how many members were lost by Team B. Students give their answer as three players.
5. Now teachers asks what is the Team B loss in terms of percentage. Students try to calculate loss in terms of percentage using prior knowledge of ratio and percentage.
6.In this way students will understand the concept of loss percentage.
They can be encouraged to try out this activity and also to find out profit percentage by using scores of this game.
Encourage children to mark the place where one team members has to sit between the poles using measuring tape .
